The new season has barely begun but the Wild are already hurting for quality players. With Marek Zidlicky out for an extended period, head Coach Todd Richards will have to rely on two rookies Clayton Stoner and Justin Falk to carry the load. The blue line is stretched thin but coach Richards isn’t hearing it. "We need better play out of certain guys, Cam being one of them, but you're losing your top defenseman," Richards said. "I mean we're taking our best offensive defenseman and pulled him out of the lineup. He and Greg Zanon last year, they were our best pair.
"I think you do that with any team, take the best defenseman out of their lineup, it's going to affect your team... Once we get Zid back, we're fine."
